Left fielder Jay Bruce smacked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Miller Park as the
Philadelphia ballclub beat the Milwaukee club 8 to 6.
Bruce provided much of the offense. He lashed a single plating a run in the
1st inning, clubbed a two-run home run in the 3rd inning and cleared the
fences for a two-run home run in the 5th inning. Milwaukee tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Aaron Nola(3-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Josh Lindblom(0-2)
was tagged with the loss. He gave up 5 runs in 4 innings of work.
'This was a tough loss,' said Milwaukee's manager, 'the kind that sticks with
you for awhile.'
