Third baseman Jose Ramirez blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Cleveland
club won in dramatic fashion over the Detroit ballclub by a score of 12 to 11
at Progressive Field.
 
Cleveland scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 2 runs.  Jake
Bauers led off and he drew a walk.  Ramirez stepped into the batter's box and
he cleared the fences for a two-run home run making Cleveland the victors to
the delight of the home town faithful.  Cleveland lit up the scoreboard in
the 2nd inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits.  Cleveland dominated
offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.  
 
Brad Hand(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing 1
run. Joe Jimenez(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.
