The San Diego team came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 4 to
1.

San Diego came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
when they scored 4 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Brian
Dozier who quieted the home crowd when he blasted a two-run home run. The
teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 8th inning.

Emilio Pagan(2-0) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the win. Pagan got relief
help from Kirby Yates who gained credit for his 6th save. Archie
Bradley(0-3) was hit with the loss in relief.

Torey Lovullo was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us this afternoon'
