In an exciting finish the Baltimore team pulled out a win over the Boston
ballclub by a score of 5 to 3 at Camden Yards.
Baltimore had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs on 2 hits. Bryan Holaday opened up the inning nicely when he delivered
a one-base hit. D.J. Stewart followed and he bombed a two-run dinger making
Baltimore the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Baltimore
had 10 hits overall, while Boston had 7.
Mychal Givens(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Heath
Hembree(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He was unable to retire a
batter giving up 2 hits and no walks.
