Sean Manaea pitched 7 strong innings and Austin Allen had 3 base hits as the
Oakland club defeated the Houston ballclub in 10 innings 2 to 1 at Oakland
Coliseum.
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. Oakland came out
the victor in the 10th inning. Ramon Laureano lined a single. Allen stepped
up to the plate and he slapped a base-hit. Franklin Barreto then laid down a
sacrifice bunt. One out later, Mark Canha came to bat and laced a single
giving Oakland the victory as 11,984 happy fans celebrated wildly. For the
game Oakland out-hit Houston 10 to 4.
The victory went to Chris Bassitt(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Framber Valdez(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 1 run
