First baseman Evan White hit 2 doubles and scored 3 times as the Seattle club
topped the Kansas City ballclub by a score of 8 to 5 at Kauffman
Stadium.
 
Seattle had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs utilizing 3 base
hits.  Dee Gordon started the inning off right when he tripled.  After an out
was recorded, Kyle Seager came up and he drew a walk.  White then doubled
driving in a run.  Austin Nola was up next and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring
another baseruner.  Kyle Lewis stepped into the box and slapped a base-hit
scoring the final run of the inning.  Seattle banged out 11 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Dan Altavilla(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Matt Magill
gained credit for his 2nd save.  Ian Kennedy(0-1) was hit with the loss in
relief.
