Fernando Tatis Jr slammed 2 homeruns as the San Diego club bested the
Philadelphia ballclub 5 to 4 at Citizens Bank Park.
Tatis Jr had a big day at the plate. He blasted a solo shot in the 1st
inning, stroked a single in the 3rd inning and ripped a solo home run in the
7th inning. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but San Diego was able to put
down the rally.
The winning pitcher was Joey Lucchesi(6-5) who allowed 2 runs in 5 innings.
Kirby Yates was credited with his 27th save. Zack Wheeler(4-3) was charged
with the loss.
Philadelphia's manager was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It
is really hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but
it is easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just
barely get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
