Dansby Swanson hit one over the fence and had 4 RBI as the Atlanta team
defeated the Los Angeles(AL) team by a score of 7 to 5 at Truist
Park.
Atlanta tallied 4 runs in the 4th inning. The highlight belonged to Swanson
who made the crowd come alive when he banged out a single bringing in two
baserunners. Los Angeles(AL) threatened in the 9th but their rally came up
short.
Chad Sobotka(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Sobotka got help from Mark Melancon who earned his 26th save.
Griffin Canning(3-3) was hit with the loss. While he was the losing pitcher,
he still struck out 9 batters in 5 innings.
Los Angeles(AL)'s manager was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss,
'It is really hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some,
but it is easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that
just barely get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
