The New York (NL) team offense put up 5 runs on the scoreboard in the 6th
inning and had very little trouble at Citi Field downing the Pittsburgh team.
The score was 8 to 1.
New York (NL) took the lead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning plating 3
runs on 4 hits. Michael Conforto led off and started the attack as he
stroked a base-hit. Pete Alonso followed and he clubbed a two-run home run.
After an out was recorded, J.D. Davis then stroked a single. Robinson Cano
followed and he was hit by a pitch. Wilson Ramos came up to bat and lined a
base-hit to load the bases. Amed Rosario did his part to keep things going
and would hit into a force play scoring the final run of the inning. That
early run support was all that Jacob Degrom(4-4) required. New York (NL)
out-hit Pittsburgh for the game, 12 hits to 9.
Derek Holland(2-4) ended up with the loss. He allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 5
innings.
