18,716 fans were treated to a fine game at PNC Park as only one run separated
the combatants at game's end. The Pittsburgh team won by the slimmest of
margins, 4 to 3.
The deciding run was scored by Pittsburgh in the bottom of the 8th. After an
out was recorded, Jose Osuna slapped a base-hit. One out later, Jarrod Dyson
came to the plate and reached on an error. Dyson then stroked a single.
Jacob Stallings stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Adam
Frazier stepped into the box and drew a walk scoring the run. Philadelphia
tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Kyle Crick(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Keone
Kela earned the save, his 13th. Adam Morgan(0-1) ended up with the loss in
relief.
'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Philadelphia's manager
'But we have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
